Cured-in-Place Pipe Lining in Murray
Trenchless Sewer Repair for Root-Damaged Pipes in Murray
Cured-in-place pipe lining repairs a damaged sewer line from the inside. A resin-saturated liner is inserted into the existing pipe and cured against its walls, forming a new structural pipe within the old one. This method can address cracks, corrosion, and root intrusion without excavating a trench across your property.
We are a locally owned and operated company serving Murray and the Wasatch Front with licensed and insured plumbing services. Our highly trained, background-checked technicians can assess the damage and explain whether lining is appropriate for your sewer line.
Call (385) 469-4940 to schedule a sewer inspection and learn whether cured-in-place lining fits the condition of your pipe.
How the Pipe Lining Process Works
Before recommending a repair, we use a sewer camera to locate the damage and evaluate the pipe’s shape. We then clean the line, install and cure the liner, and inspect the finished work.
A typical project includes these steps:
- Sewer camera inspection: A camera travels through the line to identify cracks, roots, corrosion, joint offsets, low spots, and collapsed sections.
- Pipe cleaning: We remove roots, buildup, and debris so the liner can bond properly. Depending on the obstruction, preparation may include hydro jetting with high-pressure water.
- Liner installation: A resin-saturated liner enters through an available sewer cleanout, which is the access opening used to inspect and service the line. The liner is then expanded against the existing pipe walls.
- Resin liner curing: The selected curing method hardens the material into a continuous interior pipe.
- Final camera review: A follow-up inspection checks the liner placement and confirms that the repaired line is open and functional.
Which Sewer Problems Can Pipe Lining Repair?
Homes in established Murray neighborhoods may have clay, cast iron, or other aging sewer materials. Tree roots can enter through loose joints and cracks, while corrosion and buildup can narrow the interior of cast iron pipe. After the line is cleared, lining can seal suitable cracks and joints against further intrusion.
The original pipe must retain a workable shape to support the liner. Seasonal soil movement may contribute to joint offsets or pipe bellies, which are low sections where wastewater collects. A camera inspection allows us to distinguish damage suitable for lining from conditions that call for another repair method.
During the inspection, we look for:
- Cracks in pipe that remains structurally round
- Recurring root intrusion through joints or small openings
- Interior corrosion and deterioration
- Damage beneath driveways, landscaping, or other limited-access areas
- Crushed, fully collapsed, or missing sections that may require excavation or replacement

Comparing Sewer Repair Methods in Murray
Cured-in-place lining, pipe bursting, and excavation address different types of sewer damage. The right choice depends on the camera findings, pipe shape, access points, and extent of deterioration.
Here is how the methods differ:
- Cured-in-place pipe lining: The existing pipe stays in the ground while a resin liner repairs it internally. Most installations use a cleanout or another access point, limiting the need for digging.
- Pipe bursting: Equipment breaks apart the old pipe while pulling a replacement through the same path. This method may be appropriate when the entire line needs replacement or a different pipe size is required.
- Traditional excavation: Crews dig down to expose and replace the damaged sewer. Excavation may be necessary for collapsed, severely displaced, or missing sections, but it can require heavy equipment and restoration of disturbed surfaces.
When the pipe is a suitable candidate, lining can reduce property disruption and shorten the on-site repair period compared with full excavation. We begin with an inspection so our recommendation reflects the condition beneath the ground.
